Cirencester & Salisbury & it's getting cold

After leaving the lakes our first stop was three nights at the Cirencester Park Caravan & Motor Home Club site.  This is a great location adjacent extensive parkland.  It was great for walks and running the dogs. The site also had a large enclosed dog exercise area where they could run and play ball off lead.

We walked into Cirencester through the park. Great place with lots of foodie places.

On Sunday 4 December we moved further South to Salisbury. We stayed at the Camping & Caravan Club site which is just on the edge of the city next to the rugby club and below the Old Sarum (or old scrotum as Helen calls it 😂). The Old Sarum is the site of an old fort high above the city which is good for walking and offers great views of the city.

We arrived on Sunday meeting up with Angie & Mick our colleagues from West Runton, which was a great excuse to go out for a meal and a good catch up.

The site is great location for both the city and a good run about for the dogs and a game of ball.

On Tuesday we had to take a trip to PassPets, the pet passport vet in Havant to get the animal health certificate for Buffy & Finbar. This was a really good experience (although the dogs were really nervous thinking it was a normal vet visit).  It was all straight forward and much better value than any other vet we have seen. Highly recommended. We even had a walk in the new forest on the way back👍

We had moved into winter and the temperature decided to plummet. After a mild autumn it has been a bit of a shock with our water pipe freezing up.

Helen proving that smoking is bad for you☃

We booked five nights so we could stay late Thursday as we were catching the night ferry.  Dick - Now I have to admit  I had for some reason believed I had booked a ferry from Poole to Cean.  In fact it was Portsmouth to Cean.  A last minute ticket check revealed my balls up. Well they do both begin with P. Luckily it wasn't Plymouth! Anyway we packed up and left at 19:00 taking a leisurely drive to the port just an hour from the camp site. Bye Bye UK until March 2023.
