Beach & baguettes - a drive through France & Spain

Getting on the ferry was a bit delayed for some reason. We were still on the quay at 22:45 departure time. It seems that those of us with dogs are boarded last. This turned out to be so we were right next to the dog cabins.  Buffy was terrified of the noise and slippery surface of the car deck. We got her to the cabin and piled in. We then decided to take them up to the dog exercise deck   for a pee. Again Buffy was not happy but we got there via the lift. Coming back to the cabin we found that the key card no longer worked. On getting a new one we were told the placing them next to your mobile wipes them! Anyway after some snacks and another trip to the poop deck we piled into the cabin and went to sleep. We arrived at Ouistreham just around 0730 local.  We stopped just out the port to give the dogs a wee and then went to the local Carrefour to stock up.  There is room to pull up with caravan in the car park, luckily. Cirencester & Salisbury & it's getting cold

 After leaving the lakes our first stop was three nights at the Cirencester Park Caravan & Motor Home Club site.  This is a great location adjacent extensive parkland.  It was great for walks and running the dogs. The site also had a large enclosed dog exercise area where they could run and play ball off lead. We walked into Cirencester through the park. Great place with lots of foodie places. On Sunday 4 December we moved further South to Salisbury. We stayed at the Camping & Caravan Club site which is just on the edge of the city next to the rugby club and below the Old Sarum (or old scrotum as Helen calls it 😂). The Old Sarum is the site of an old fort high above the city which is good for walking and offers great views of the city. We arrived on Sunday meeting up with Angie & Mick our colleagues from West Runton, which was a great excuse to go out for a meal and a good catch up.
